I wasn't sick this time, but I still choked!

Hi! I've been on the outskirts of the blog world this past week. I had lots going on at work and then there was the LSAT looming over my head. Well, the bad news is I most likely won't be going to law school right now. However, the good news is, if I hurry and take acting classes, I could still play one on tv. Actually, that might be more fun than law school.

The test was held on Saturday morning at the UMW. We had to check in no later than 8:30am and were dismissed at 1:30pm. I tried desperately to put my game face on and focus, but...just like the Redskins team last week, I choked. Bottom line. I let my head rule me and keep me in a panic.

I spent the remainder of Saturday beating myself up and being grumpy. Finally, I just decided that there was no point, it wasn't going to change the outcome. While I am very disappointed in myself, I have to move on. I haven't decided what I am going to do yet. I can either take the test again in December or just wait until July or Sept of next year for the following year. I'm still mulling it over. I thought I would give myself a few days to think about it.

Tonight there will be no studying! Sydney and I have a date to play ponies! I will look forward to it all day!

Jess,

Hang in there. I bombed my GMATs this past week. I thought I flopped the Math Section (very disturbing because I do have an engineering degree!!!) which lead me to psyching myself out for the verbal section (which I did bomb).

Take a break, relax a bit, and then make your decision.

Thanks, Bob! :) That is exactly what happened to me. I started the games, got freaked out and before I knew they were calling the 5-minute warning. The next section, reading comp, my strongest section was completely RUINED because I was still upset over the game section.

Oh well! :) Besides, I bet YOU did very well, you little Tech Genius!

Take care,
Jess

Well...

I did very well on the Math section (7-8 pts on average higher than when I took the practice tests). But I was such a head case during the verbal section (because I thought I bombed the math)that I did score lower (7 - 8 pts on average lower than my practice tests). What gets me is if I had just been able to put up a decent verbal score, I would have reached my goals.
One thing I realize is that "I" am the only one putting the pressure on me! The MBA will come, according to my time table, so I shouldn't freak out about when I start or finish.

B-

Wow! You got your scores right away? I have to wait for four weeks. I know they are going to suck so, I'm not particularly looking forward to seeing them.

It sounds like you did perfectly fine! :) Brat! I thought we were actually in the same boat. Doesn't sound like it. :) I'm glad for you.

It is true about the time table. My friend, Rachel, keeps telling me that I have plenty of time. She's right. :)

Hey... sometimes the lawyers on t.v. look like they do a better job too. It's something to think about. :) When I took my board licensing for appraising, I did much the same thing. I was tired, worried and a bit crabby...and I blew it. Two months later, I aced it. Sometimes you need to walk away for a few. Your words have meant so much to me over the past weeks. I can't thank you enough.

First, Jess you may have done better than you think. I was always certain I bombed important tests and then usually did better than I had talked myself into believing.

Things will come in the right time and however they work out. Bob showed me his practice questions for the GMAT and I know I wouldn't have gotten *any* of them correct, I'm sure the LSAT is just as difficult! My hats off to both of you for studying and going for it.

(I have to tell you that in one day I think Bob has posted on your blog more than he has in total on mine- ever!).

You know what? You had the guts to try and who knows? Maybe you'll retake it or maybe you won't -- but you got in there and went for it. Yay for you!

Jess my heart sank when I read this - but like Jess G said - maybe you are just thinking you did worse than you did.

I know you will be great at whatever you do!!
