So Very True!

Yes, I doubt my kids would put "Loyal Employee" on my tombstone. Well, I hope not! :) It took me a couple of weeks to remember what I REALLY had to do and it isn't work! I've made it home timely since.

We spent the weekend visiting my grandparents and my mother-in-law. It was such a nice weekend. They, of course, spoiled us rotten. It really is so sweet to be wanted huh?

We really gave our gps a workout this trip. We had to maneuver around an accident and we were unsure of the best way to get to Loretta's from my grandparents' house. It really came in handy. I'm soooo glad Wes gave it to us for Christmas. Thanks, Wes! :)

I'm not as brave as you might think. Nate will be spending our camping weekend with mom. I think it might be a bit too cold for his tiny body. Perhaps we'll try it late summer.

Well, I'm getting set for another busy busy week. I look forward to being busy, but we've not slept very well this weekend. I hope tonight is a restful night. Ahem, Nathan, I'm talking to you. :)

Have a great week! Now, to try and catch up with you all before he stirs.

Keepin' My Word

Okay, I made it home late again last night. This is becoming quite the trend, going in early and staying late. Not anymore! :) I don't mind the early in, but the late stay has got to go. That cuts into my family time and I'm not going to make that a habit. Of course, easier said than done. :) Marc plans to call me fifteen minutes before I'm scheduled to leave to remind me to do so. Life is too short.

We've had our house up for a little over two weeks and the first viewing was yesterday. It is a really good thing that I'm not that thrilled about moving. Otherwise, I might be really upset. :)

We purchased a new tent and sleeping bags this weekend. This will be the first camping trip we've taken in probably seven years. So, our two man tent won't work for the four of us. :) Marc came home from Iraq and declared that he would never camp again. I was concerned that he'd stick to it. Thankfully not! We're planning a trip in mid-April. I'm quite excited. I did lots of camping when I was a kid and I cannot wait to share this experience with my daughter. I'm quite the city girl these days so, we'll see how much of a change it is for me.

I'm thrilled and I almost forgot to tell you...I'm going to see Celine Dion in Sept!! We purchased the seats yesterday. Of course, the good seats are going for $500-1000, which is NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! So, we'll need tissues for the nosebleeds, but I've wanted to see her since I was fifteen. Finally!

Well, I've got lots of work waiting for me. Today, I'm keeping my word and I'm going home on time!!!

I hope you have a great day!

Miracles!

I'm not kidding, guys. I'm finding very little time for myself these days. I got to work at 7:30am almost every day last week and the week before with hopes of taking care of a few personal things before the day began. Didn't happen. I rushed through most of my lunches last week, if I finished at all. I also managed to stay late four of the five days last week. Not really long, but it certainly makes a difference in our night routines. I just keep telling myself that things will settle shortly.

I was just at my breaking point last week because I was starting to feel exhausted. Nathan's lack of sleep was really taking its toll on us. THANKFULLY, Friday and Saturday we got a break. I hope the trend continues, but I'll hold off on the champagne toast. He got up only twice both nights, which was HUGE for him. He's been waking up every two hours. Keep your fingers crossed. It is amazing how different your outlook can be when you actually get sleep.

It is 9pm and we've had a wonderful weekend. I'd like to tell you about it, and last weekend, but Mr. Nate is calling me. I guess it will just have to wait, like many other things. :)

Wishing you a very happy bunny day! I hope it was as great as ours. We're very well, happy and healthy. Wonderful!

Take care!

Five Little Monkeys Squished In The Bed

That's right! Everyone in my house has ended up in my bed the last few nights. So, you can imagine how much sleep Marc and I are getting. :)

I'm getting CRUSHED at home and work so, I've been too busy to write.

Thinking of you all. Will post soon!

Better Than A Poke In The Eye (AND I'M THANKFUL!)

This week has been extremely difficult for so many reasons, but so far, it is better than a poke in the eye. :)

The time change compounded our lack of sleep and by Wednesday, I was ready to drop. Work has been extremely busy. I've been trying to catch up and now, one of the partners has submitted her resignation. That is always a huge deal.

On the home front, Nathan had his two month well check visit. He's very well and weighed in at 10 lbs 10 ounces. His navel is healing nicely (it didn't close all the way) and he recovered quickly from his first immunizations. We had only a night and a morning of crankiness. Not bad! :)

If we weren't busy enough, we decided to put our home on the market this week. We are looking to purchase a bit further out. As you know, the market is really, for lack of a better word, JACKED right now. So, we don't expect a quick sale at all. Nonetheless, we still have to pack up our personal photos and put a few pieces of furniture into storage for showing purposes. My office will look like an office again! It has become so cluttered with records, books and papers that I just want to set fire to it and start over. Instead, I can just continue to procrastinate and throw it all in a box. I can open the mess again at our new house. I think I'll label it "Pandora's Freaking Mess!"

Big news this week! My brother, Wes, has signed a lease for his very first apartment! :) WOW! Yay, Wes! I'm so proud of him and I cannot wait to see it. He moves in next month.

Sydney has earned her second trip to the Mouse's house (Chuck E. Cheese)! The positive reinforcement has made an improvement in her behavior. Some days, she could care less, but most days, she is very cooperative. Thank goodness! She's even starting to like me again! :) That is the best! Check me out! I got TWO hugs and kisses this morning before work. Some days, I get natta.

Dad, Jenn and Josh are coming tomorrow to visit. I'm excited. I cannot wait to see how big my little brother has gotten. I haven't seen them since Thanksgiving. I bet he's HUGE!

I almost forgot that today is Thankful Thursday. So, today I am thankful for:

1. My sweet commute this morning. I made it to work by 7:30am, which means PLAYTIME!
2. The absence of a line at the bank atm this morning. I was able to quickly make a deposit.
3. The fun chat this morning with Shenan.
4. My nice and quiet office. There is nothing like the quiet sometimes.
5. My desk piled with work. Funny, huh! If you are busy, you can't think about what you are missing (family).
6. My new outfit. My pants are so soft and comfortable! My sweater was a great gift from my MIL.
7. My buddy, Rachel (as always)! The flowers she gave me on Monday are still beautiful and cheerful.
8. Our clients. The majority of them are sweet and fun. Yesterday, one of them brought me an outfit for Nathan. It was so very sweet. We were attending a very emotional hearing for her and she had thought of ME! That is just so sweet.
9. Mirena! I know! Too much info, but I'm excited. I've been unable to tolerate drugs for over ten years and this, even a week later, doesn't seem to bother me much.
10. My desk photos! There is nothing better than looking at pics of the ones you love when you desperately miss them.

To all of you, I wish you a very happy day!

Much love,
Jess

SAHM No More

Today is my official last day as a SAHM. :( Boy the last eight weeks FLEW by me. I cannot believe it!

Nathan went to school part-time this week so that we could both start adjusting. Monday is going to be, for lack of a better term, a complete suckfest! I want to cry just thinking about it.

We've got a busy weekend of chores and fun before the time change and return to work. I hope you all have a great weekend also.

It All Makes Sense

I've heard people often state that many holidays are commercially driven (i.e. Easter with the Bunny and Christmas with Santa) and there is certainly truth behind the claim. Recently, it occurred to me that the various holidays have a whole new motivation: bribing your kid to BEHAVE! :) Take a look...

Sept. 23

Mommy says, "Sydney, if you don't behave you won't go trick or treating."

Nov. 15

Mommy says, "Sydney, if you don't behave Santa will skip our house."

Jan. 31

Mommy says, "Sydney, if you don't behave there will be no Valentine making."

March 3

Mommy says, "Sydney, if you don't behave the Easter Bunny will hop right by us."

So on and so on. Now, it all makes sense to me and I have a whole new appreciation for the holidays! :)

Just in case you were wondering what holiday is next...Syd's birthday! :) She is DYING to get chewing gum on her third birthday. We had no idea when it was safe for her to chew gum and so we randomly told her she could on her third b-day. Unfortunately for us, she has never forgotten it! Any thoughts on that? Three should be okay right?

Hope you are having a great day!
