Rainy Tuesday

It was a rainy day today, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I must admit that Nathan and I went back to bed after Marc and Sydney left this morning and snuggled for quite some time. It was so wonderful. I'm really going to miss the morning snuggles when I go back to work. :(

Nathan and I took a trip to Chipotle to meet Marc for lunch today. Then, we headed over to Target to pick up a few items. I feel like I live in that store these days. Oh! We were on the way out and I saw this lady push her cart to the front of her truck, get in and drive away. The cart center was literally three parking spaces from her. HOW LAZY! I get really annoyed with this. It seems like Marc and I are always pushing random carts to a safer location. It is such a little thing. Why not just put the cart away? Well, enough of that. :)

I had my check up yesterday. Everything is back to normal and I am healthy, less the blood pressure issue. For now, we are just watching it. I weighed in 19lbs heavier than I did before I got pregnant. I'm thrilled. I hope to keep my new butt! I've never had one before and I'm quite thrilled. Ha ha!

I rethought my decision to quit pumping all together. I've instead decided to just cut back. Just couldn't do it. :) I'm not ready yet. I figure some is better than none.

Well, I'm off to Costco. My contact rx runs out tomorrow and I want to stock up. I'm quite happy with my rx so, I'd like to save the trip to the eye dr right now. I'll be visiting the dentist instead. :) I really hate going to drs. I don't even have a primary physician, but will have to get one now. I don't even know where to go. Jess, did you have one here?

I hope you all have a great week. I'll be out of town for much of the week visiting relatives so, I doubt I'll get to post much.

Take care,
Jess :)

Chillin' On Sunday

Sydney is playing doctor this morning. I've had at least thirty shots. Thankfully, they aren't real. :) Nathan is sleeping peacefully in his swing and Marc is working on the computer. We spent a lot of time yesterday doing our chores and so today, we are just hanging out. Sure, we have chores left on the list, but we always will. :)

I've had the opportunity this week to catch a few shows on FoodTV. Man! I just love LOVE food! I really wish there was a part-time cooking school around here. Trying to flub it in my own kitchen doesn't seem to be that productive to me. :) After all, I could tell you something didn't turn out the way it should, but couldn't always tell you why.

We're planning our first camping trip in seven years! I'm so excited. I used to go camping a lot when I was a kid and when I went off into the wide world I worked weekends or had volunteer obligations that kept me from going. Well, I also didn't have any friends interested in going, which makes a difference. For some reason, my friends didn't like the idea of traveling without a hair dryer. This will be the first of (hopefully) many family camping trips we'll take. I'm anxious to see how Sydney likes it. Nathan will hang behind this time with Grandma. Now, we just have to decide where to go. Ruh-any suggestions? I know you live close to me and are a nature fanatic. :) It will just be a long weekend so, somewhere relatively close.

Well, I'm off to help Marc with some computer work. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Finally! Photos!

Okay, Jess guilted me into it. I'm a complete slacker when it comes to posting photos. I take them and show them to Marc and that is usually as far as they go. :) So, here are some shots I have taken over the last month.

My Silly Pudding Girl

Yep! He does the dishes and he's all MINE! :)
Hmmm...

I will demand one million bottles!

My two men!

Isn't it funny how they think chores are cool at this age?

If only they were better at them! Check out this mess. It took two minutes to make!
My gray-eyed boy! Yes, not sure where they came from.

Hi, fish! Are you going to hang out with me all day?

Poor Sydney. She was really sick and tired. Isn't it funny?

There you go! That is the latest.

Throwing In the Towel

Well, we're all on the mend finally. Syd ended up with an ear infection and I ended up with bronchitis. They also mentioned that my blood pressure is still way too high. So, I'll have to address that soon also. Syd and I are both on antibiotics. Oh how I love the smell of amox.

I'm a terrible mom, but I just don't want to pump anymore! I ended up pumping solely simply because of the anatomical issue and Nathan just wouldn't cope with it. I tried to be yee-haw about it, but after the thrush, cuts (yes, I love my pump), purple mess, constant leaking and 24 days of meds...I'm done. I want to go out without worrying about being home in time to pump. I want to sleep without a bra. I don't want to have to wake up in the middle of the night to pump, even when Nathan is asleep. I know, I know...I'm selfish. Then, I think about my return to work. I tried desperately to pump for Sydney. Even though I have the right, it wasn't exactly acceptable at work. That raises another issue...the return to work. It is right around the corner and I'm torn. I really don't want to go back, but I know I will be fine once I get there.

My hair has started to fall out again. Jess, are you ready? :) I'm hoping I will be able to camouflage it better this time since my hair is long. Oh well, my hair was to thick for me anyway! :) I kept breaking my hair ties.

So that is the latest with me. I'll be spending the week on a disinfecting mission. :) My house was destroyed during the last five days, even more than usual. I hope to send the germs packing. Ick!

I hope you are all happy and well. I hope to have a few minutes to drop in on you while Nathan naps. Keep your fingers crossed! :)

Take care,
Jess

Nothing Says Love Like a Family Cold

That's right. We're all fighting a cold at various stages now. I had it first so, I suppose I am responsible for infecting our entire house. :) The kids and I were supposed to go to my mom's this weekend, but it looks like we'll be hanging out here instead.

We picked up Nathan's RX today, it was a compound so it took a bit longer. It turns out that insurance won't cover it because it is a version of Prilosec, which is available over the counter. The only catch to that is that it is available only in PILL format. Um...I'm not a genius, but even I know that a baby cannot swallow a pill, especially one that is only a month old! Good grief. Needless to say, we'll be disputing that nonsense. I can't wait to send them a "DUH!" letter. :)

I also picked up GV today at the Target. I had them special order it from their wholesaler since I had to wait for Nathan's medicine. I have started having symptoms again, even though I have finished my entire round of meds. I'm not sure what that is all about.

Well, it is late and I am off to try to get some sleep. Have a good night!

Finally! A Jess Kind of Day!

Just last week I was going to warn my friends and family not to use garlic before seeing me, but today I made it up and out with the living. Marc took Nathan all night last night and I got some much needed rest, despite sleeping in our ridiculously cold guest room.

Take a look at what I did today:

1. Took Nathan to his one month well visit, which went very well. He has gained quite a bit of weight and is now 8lbs 12 oz! He has acid reflux, like Syd, so they prescribed something to help alleviate his pain.

2. Nathan and I had lunch at Red Lobster. It was a nice quiet lunch and I even got a call from my sister, one of the many people I love talking to but have been limited in doing so lately.

3. I took a trip to Costco. We were out of a ton of stuff. I tried to drop off Nathan's RX, but the didn't have it or GV (just thought I'd check). So, I picked up my items, which included juice boxes for a Valentine's Day party Syd is having at school this week.

4. Iwas headed to the local pharmacy to fill Nate's RX when ice started accumulating on my windshield. Idecided to skip the pharmacy and pick up Syd from school.

5. Syd and I spent much of the afternoon making Valentines. Then, Marc came home and she decided it wasn't fun anymore.

6. Since Marc and Nate were in napping moods, Sydney and I headed upstairs where I started a whirlwind pickup session. I picked up our room, vacuumed the upstairs and main level, started a load of laundry (this was after washing and putting away four loads yesterday), quick mopped all four bathrooms, finished loading the dishwasher and washed the dinner dishes.

7. Now, I'm feeding Nate and typing with one hand. So, if there are mistakes, ignore them. :)

Oh yeah, I also went to the gas station and printed a few recipes to try.

All in all, I've had a fairly productive day.

One quick thing before I am off to put my nightly bag together. Last Friday evening, Sydney and I headed to the local Target. We were heading to Richmond for the weekend and I need a few last minute odds and ends (bottle liners, etc.). We happened to be walking down the "personals" aisle heading to another section when Sydney pulled off two giant packages of pads and yelled, "Here, Mom! These are for you! They are for your butt!" Um...hello? When did my child obtain such an education. Obviously she has seen such items in my bathroom, fairly recently with the delivery of Nathan, but...who knew? They really don't miss a trick do they? It actually scares me. Just when you think they aren't listening or are not paying attention, think again!

With that, I'm off. I hope you have a great night.

Life of a Vampire

I've been living the life of a vampire these days, up all night (it seems) and trying to sleep all day. It is so strange. My big accomplishments today were: showering, brushing my teeth, taking care of Nathan, eating lunch, picking up Sydney and dropping mail in a post office box. WOW! Not! :) Pathetic eh? I'm hoping we'll get back on track very soon.

In the meantime, I'm very thankful I managed to post this before midnight. :) Just kidding, I'm very thankful for many things, but too tired to list them.

Thinking of you all, even if you haven't heard from me. Seriously, I do.

Take care!

Don't Move A Muscle!

Mr. Nathan has been changing things around on me lately and it seems that I just cannot get enough sleep. This afternoon, we made it out of the house to have lunch with Marc and my brother, Wes. When we returned, he was asleep in the car. Lately, he has just wanted me to hold him, which is great most of the time, but I find it difficult to sleep that way. So, rather than risk waking him, I pulled into the garage and flipped my seat back and tried to sleep. Funny huh? The things we'll do sometimes when we are desperate for sleep. :)

They say that kids tell the truth. I'm not sure which kids, certainly not my child. Sunday, Marc took Sydney to the potty and happened to see that some urine had missed the potty and hit the floor (she's quite a shot!). When he asked Syd what happened, she told him, "Mommy did it." She didn't even blink. Go figure she'd blame mom. :) BTW-in case you were wondering, it wasn't me. :)

Update on the thrush (in case you were curious). I spent a lot of the afternoon on Sunday roaming around looking for GV and couldn't find it anywhere (Wegmans, CVS, Giant, Target, Vitaminshoppe, Walgreens or GNC). So, I had to call the Dr on Monday. I've been on the meds for two days and there is a little improvement. I've got to order some GV to have in my cabinet in the event it happens again.

Well, I'm off to do some chores. Have a good night. I hope to catch up with you all soon.

NOT AGAIN! BUMMER!

I have thrush! I cannot believe it! I've been so diligent and proactive this time and yet, here I am. The good news is that since Nate has gotten his milk via bottle, he seems to be okay.

Keeping my fingers crossed that the antibiotics don't screw up my supply again this time. GOOD GRIEF!

Hope all is well with you guys out there. :)
