I'm so looking forward to this weekend. I love going and doing, but this weekend, we'll be at home. Yay! We've go so much to catch up on, mostly chores. I've also got to get back to planning my meals. I've tried winging it and it just isn't working out. So, back to the grind again.
So, in case you didn't know, this month is National Sewing Month. Yay! Well, I guess. I only know that because I was research fabric costs online and discovered that. I've been looking at sewing machines, nothing fancy really, I just need one with a blind hem stitch. So, pretty basic is good. It is just about time for me to start Syd's costume. I'm hoping it will go well. We'll see.
We put a pair of Syd's jeans on yesterday morning, from last year, and we just about died laughing. They are now low capris or super highwaters. :) She is so tall, but so thin. It is somewhat problematic. She really needs the 3t length at least, but a 2t waist. Thank goodness for adjustable pants. Why aren't all of them this way? Another thing on our list is to buy shoes for little miss this weekend. She has quickly jumped up at a size 8.5! My baby is growing too quickly for me, both of them actually.
Have a great, productive weekend!

I love the adjustable pants too - we have to use them for Ethan especially. he is so thin! I think they stop putting the adjustable waistband in around size 8 though. :(
Have a super fantastic weekend!
Jess, I have been scouring consignment shops and I have found some great deals for clothes for Ella. If you take old Ashburn Rd. (kind of a pain to get on it now with all the road changes, but it is the road where the Asburn Firehouse is) there is an area with some commercial shops on a little hill. There is a GREAT children's consignment shop in there, brand new tags on a lot of the clothes. Being right by Belmont Country Club probably helps the shop get nice brands, gently used clothes. I bought Ella 4T for Fall and Winter, I learned my lesson last year. She had outgrown all the 2T by December and I had to rebuy everything. She can just roll things up until they fit. ;-) I think Ella's foot is now around a 9, she was in an 8.5 in the beginning of the summer. And she also has long legs and a shorter torso, so while she is average height she needs longer pants.
Per your question on my blog, my sewing machine is the Heart Truth 2008 by Janome. I really do love it, though I don't have much experience to compare with others. I had been sewing on a 1938 Singer Featherweight! I went for a slightly more expensive model because I wanted to be able to use the machine for years and years, and I am hoping my sewing skills continue to improve and it will get a ton of use.
www.patternreview.com has a ton of sewing machine and sewing pattern reviews. Very helpful site.
We just went throught the clothes/shoes dilemma. We are so grateful with adjustable waists for Taylor and it's funny because Callee has the opposite problem. My poor chunky monkey!
