Mommy and Me Time! I'm Not the Devil!

Yesterday, Syd and I took a short trip to the mall. We rode the carousel, the train, drank a strawberries and cream from SB (of course) and stopped by Bath & Body. With Hannah Banana in mind, I let Sydney pick out a few things to girly herself up. She was just thrilled. It was so nice to see her smiling (IN MY DIRECTION)! It was absolute bliss.

I know you all have probably seen the Hidden Valley Ranch commercial where all the kids are devouring their vegetables, eating giant bowls of salad and playing games for veggie dippers. Well, Syd hasn't shown much interest in ranch, but last night she asked to try our "leaves". We assumed she would just spit it out and move on, but to our surprise, she asked for her own. The salad dressing of choice last night was Brianna's Blush Vinaigrette (one of my favorites). I was stunned. My kid was eating salad! I already had her convinced that sweet potatoes or butternut squash mixed with cinnamon and sugar is "pie," but now I get to add salad too! WOW!

I got a sweet package from Tib today! Thanks so much! :) We really appreciate it. Marc picked up the package and said, "Who do we know in Vermont?" Ha ha! :) Silly silly. Thank you again.

Well, it is 8:19pm and I have got to run and eat dinner. Then I will throw myself into bed and hope to get some sleep before little Nathan starts his evening.

At our house, we always called carrots "candy coins" in a vain attempt to get my son to eat them. He eats them now but it was a struggle. I am so glad that Syndey has welcomed you back to the fold.

I'm so happy you aren't the devil anymore. It was definitely an adjustment adding another one in our house for everyone!

Congrats on the salad. My almost 4 year old has always loved salad, broccoli, yogurt and some other stuff you wouldn't think kids would like.

You are one amazing mother!! What a great little getaway for you and Syd! I am not surprised she asked for your "leaves" - kids pick up on their parents eating habits, so keep it up :)

Have a great weekend, and squeezes to little Nathan :)

I'm so happy you and Syd got some quality alone time together. I will file away a trip to Bath and Body for Ella and me when our baby comes. I think that is a perfect and fun way to spend time with mom and Ella is in love with bubble bath and "fume" (perfume).

And WooHOO Syd for eating salad! Ella has always been a big veggie eater but I know that in her case we just plain lucked out. :-)

I'm glad you were able to spend some fun time with her. That really helped G when her little sister was born.

Neither my 2 year old or my 16 month old like ranch... which surprised me, but they don't much care for other condiments either.

My two year old does like salad though, I usually eat it w/ an italian dressing and he likes that. I'll have to try that blush vinaigrette...
