Wow! What a way to start the day!

I came in this chilly Monday morning to numerous comments on my Thankful Thursday post! :) Yay! I was so happy to read the responses this morning. I've often heard that you get what you put out in this life. This morning, I feel as though it is true. Thanks. :)

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. I have been under the radar since Thursday evening. I left work early on Thursday for a doctor's apt, which went very well. We are both healthy and on track.

I took the day off on Friday to visit my mom, but she was overwhelmed with chores. In order to give her a chance to get caught up, I opted to stay home. Since we are unable to carry our days over into the next year (FYI-STUPID POLICY), I decided to take the day to myself. I woke up early and went to breakfast with Marc and Sydney. We dropped Syd off at school and Marc dropped me off at home. I thought about all the things I could do and then decided that I would go back to bed for a few hours. After my morning nap, I got up and went to the mall. I hadn't had my haircut in months. I always hate cutting into my evening time with family. I've been able to get away with it since my hair is so long.

I went to visit Stephanie (stylist) and because I hadn't seen her in months, I had no idea she was pregnant! :) 20 wks, in fact, and she is having a girl! Wow! She is doing so very well and I am happy to hear it.

After that, I decided it was time for lunch. I had been thinking about queso the entire time Steph was cutting my hair. I went to the bookstore, picked up a few magazines and headed to Chevy's in the mall. Wasn't I surprised to learn that Chevy's was gone!? I know I must have stood there dumbfounded for a few minutes. I was probably looking around as if they had just moved the restaurant. After standing there, looking stupid for a few minutes, I left and made my way to Los Toltecos instead. :) The queso was definitely not as good as Chevy's, but the guac made up for it. I enjoyed lunch, alone, and read my two new magazines (Gourmet and the Paula Deen Christmas Edition). By the way, blah on the Gourmet and THUMBS UP for the P.D. Edition! I'm using some of the recipes for my Christmas dinner. We tested the sausage ball recipe last night and it got great reviews from both of my guinea pigs (Marc and Syd).

The rest of the afternoon was just as relaxing and productive! I went to Babiesrus and picked up some items we needed. I picked up our artwork from Michael's, made a grocery list and watched Judge Judy. :) It was the perfect day off!

The weekend was pretty busy and Marc worked both days. There were lots of chores completed and we even managed to have some fun! :) We went to Red Robin on Saturday for lunch. The A1 Peppercorn is back!!! YUM!

I'm sad to say that the Redskins lost to Dallas, but we did put up a good fight. Oh well. We watched 'Chuck and Larry' after Syd went to bed. Actually, I watched it. Marc fell asleep. :) It was pretty cute.

What a nice, quiet and happy weekend! :) I hope you had one too.

Happy Monday!
Jess

Sounds like the perfect day off! Don't you think everyone's life sounds so fun and exciting in blogs? Even when people talk about chores. I guess it ties into the magical "reading world". About the fried chicken Sunday, let's do it! The only bad Sunday for me is the 9th. And I will be emailing you!

Can you believe Steph is pregnant and having a girl?? I'm hosting a Silpada party for her on the 1st, can't wait to catch up with her then! Have a happy Monday!

Yes, it is great to take a day off and pamper oneself. Have a great Thanksgiving, Jess, and take it easy.

Red Robin is my son's absolute most favorite place to eat in the world. He'd go every day if he could. Glad you had a nice weekend.

What a wonderfully, perfect day! Gotta love days to yourself. Maybe I should be taking one of those soon. I can carry over my days, but I've got so many . . . hmmmm. And I've got a gift certificate to the spa that I need to use. I may just follow your lead.

Oh - and Chevy's is gone here too. Not sure why, I loved the salsa.

Glad you got a great haircut! I hadn't yet heard that Steph was having a girl, what good news.

Chevy's is gone? I loved their salsa and chips- we used to eat it all the time at the salon in the backroom.

Happy Thanksgiving if I don't get back here before then!
