Yay! Signs of Life!

We discovered this morning that our corn, beans and something else (can't remember w/o looking at my map) have taken off!

Now, we have to keep our new babies from predators (i.e. birds, rabbits and SYDNEY). I'm so excited. I'm a nerd.

That is exciting! I wish we could grow things. Actually, we did tomatoes last year, and they grew well. We joined a CSA out in Bluemont (actually not horribly far from you). So we get produce each week while having a fun day out at the farm.

Try and get some hair clippings from the salon and spread them around the outside of the beds. The animals don't like the human smell. You can also take an old hose and cut it into short lengths and put them here and there in the beds. Little animals think they are snakes and stay away. I learned that tip in my Mother Earth News magazine- I think it is a great one and cheap!
