Wednesday Wednesday

It is foggy this morning and surprisingly warm. I stopped to get gas this morning and was amazed that I didn't even need a jacket. It was so comfortable that I got lost in the morning fog and forgot that I was supposed to be on my way to work. :)

I fell asleep on the couch last night after the first ten minutes of NCIS. When I woke up it was 8:45pm. I decided to just scrap the rest of the show and The Unit for the second week in a row. I climbed into bed and slept until around 1:30am when my nightly fun began. It is getting a bit more difficult to get comfortable and, of course, the five or six trips to the bathroom doesn't help. :) Now, I understand why I am constantly falling asleep the second I sit down at night. :)

I got a new book from Amazon yesterday. The title escapes me at this moment, but it is about the history of the Salem witch trials. I've always found the subject fascinating and am looking forward to reading it. I have several other books on the way, thanks to Charlie and Tim, and I've already forgotten what they are! :) It will be a surprise! :)

Rachel has been in depositions for the last few days and she is finally free! :) I think today we'll have a celebratory sushi lunch. I discovered that the Japanese restaurant we go to carries fried oysters and squid!!! MMMMM! So, I can pretty much make a meal on that alone. Fried oysters always reminds me of my dad and his family. I love love love them!

Have a great day and I'll check in later!

My senior seminar class to graduate was on the Age of Witch hunts. I wrote my 15 page paper on Salem. Let me know which book you got and if you're super interested cause I can lead you to some leading historians on the subject, or we could just chat about it and make fried chicken! :)

Allie-

Thanks! :) That sounds so interesting. How did you only get away with 15 pgs??? :)

We could definitely do that! I had to look up the title. It is 'The Devil in the Shape of a Woman' and the author is a professor. I, of course, cannot remember his name. I really need to work on that-memory!

Oh - that does sound like an interesting book. When you remember the title, you'll have to let me know so I can add it to my list. I love that type of book!

That's Carol Karlsen. She took the gender approach (duh, from the title). If you want an overview of different theories you can read my paper (clearly not a long one!) And I got away with 15 pages (as opposed to the required 30) by convincing my professor that quality over quantity was the way to go and while I could certainly give him a mediocre paper that was 30 pages (hopefully! I'm a concise writer) I could save him time with a far better paper that was only 15. He said if I could present my argument in that space then be his guest so I did and I got an A-!

I feel so out of the learning loop since I graduate so I would definitely love to chat sometime, it is a fascinating subject. And I do really want to learn your fried chicken recipe! ;)

Yes, yes, that is her. I had to look when I got home last night. She is a professor at the University of Michigan. I would love to read your paper. You should email it to me (jtadlock@garyreg.com).

Fried chicken is a piece of cake. :) It is just very very time consuming. Maybe we should get together one Sunday in December. I'll be sequestered. :) It really is an all afternoon affair.

Ahh, I remember taking a trip back East and being in Salem for Halloween. It was kinda spooky, but a little touristy as well.
